Sister Margaret Mary O'Connell interview, 1973 April 10 - 1973 April 12
Scope and Contents
In March and April of 1973, Dr. Charles Ritter and two of his students, Barbara Gross and Mary Jo Maloney, interviewed 15 faculty members of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. These interviews were done on reel to reel tapes at 1 7/8 speed. In January of 1989 Sister Patricia Murphy, SSND, with the assistance of Philip Fryer of the Loyola Notre Dame Library transferred these to cassette tapes. These copies were then transcribed by Nikki Williams, and kept in their unedited form. Many of these original transcripts are incomplete due to difficulty hearing the audio.
In 2020 the interviews were digitized from the original reel to reel recordings, and new digital transcriptions were produced. This series includes all known versions of the interviews, including analog and digitized recordings, the original print transcripts, and the more recent digital transcripts.
