Father John J. Griffin, born in 1859, was a Catholic priest and academic. This collection consists mainly of Rev. Griffin’s Camp Namaschaug documents, including business correspondence, bills, receipts, financial information, booklets and advertisements, and legal documents.

The Dr. J.J. Griffin Chemistry Club was founded in 1944 by students of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland to give its members a greater appreciation and understanding of the nature and significance of chemistry. The Notre Dame of Maryland University Dr. J.J. Griffin Chemistry Club records, circa 1890-1984, consist of a single ledger with the club's founding documents, meeting minutes, and membership lists; and photographs.
