Abstract

The Natural history scrapbooks collection, 1890-1903, contains clippings of newspaper articles and pictures about animals, plants, and natural history wonders as well as pressed plants. The 1890s scrapbook's title page, page numbers and index are hand-drawn with intricate detail. It is believed the scrapbooks belonged to College of Notre Dame of Maryland students or faculty members.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Natural history scrapbooks collection, 1890-1903, contains clippings of newspaper articles and pictures about animals, plants, and natural history wonders as well as pressed plants. The first scrapbook's title page, page numbers and index are hand-drawn with intricate detail. Empty pages are left in between to signal the start of a new natural history topic.
