The Buildings, facilities, and maintenance series contains oversized architectural drawings, maintenance manuals, facilities audits, and documentation on library signage, furnishings, and fixtures.
The Photographs series contains photographic material documenting Loyola Notre Dame Library and its operations and activities.
The Publications, informational, and promotional materials series contains publicly disseminated documents, such as articles, newsletters, press releases, publications, and library information sheets and brochures.

The Creation of joint library series contains documentation on the logistics of creating a joint library; construction, furnishings, and signage for the Loyola Notre Dame library; ownership of the land where the library was constructed; private and corporate fundraising as well as federal assistance; and dedication of the library.
The documentation includes correspondence, reports, meeting notes, site and construction plans, zoning appeal documentation, specifications and cost estimates, capital campaign brochures and reports, grant applications, examination of financial statements, loan documentation, billing and invoices, contracts and agreements, research on joint libraries, brochures, programs, invitations, flyers, newspaper articles, press releases, and awards.

The Governance series contains documentation related to the founding and mission of the Loyola Notre Dame Library as well as the records for Loyola Notre Dame Library Board of Trustees.
Founding and library mission documentation includes the Loyola Notre Dame Library Agreement (1968), Bylaws (circa 1968), Articles of Incorporation (1969), Amendment to Joint Library Agreement (1970), Articles of Amendment (1974), and mission statement and overall objectives of LNDL (1978).
The Board of Trustees records include correspondence, meeting notes, and reports. Most of the records are a product of the Board’s Building and Finance Committee’s work; specifically, capital projects, library renovation and expansion fundraising, and budget and funding concerns.

The Financial and business records series contains documentation related to Loyola Notre Dame Library’s strategic planning, fundraising, budget, and human resources.
The documentation includes strategic planning reports; annual reports and statistics of various departments and of Loyola Notre Dame Library as whole; correspondence; capital campaign brochures and reports; donor lists; grant applications; the records of Friends of LNDL; and a few charts, ledgers, and presentations regarding budget. This series also includes staff and student assistant handbooks and manuals; LNDL phone lists; and correspondence regarding staff work schedules, holidays, and flex time.

Departments, committees, and task forces contains documentation created by Loyola Notre Dame Library’s departments, committees, and task forces. Departments include Office of the Director, acquisitions, archives, cataloging, circulation, collection management, audiovisual center, interlibrary loan, reference, serials, and technology. This series also contains notes from staff, manager, and supervisor meetings; and surveys on library usage.
The documentation includes correspondence; research and presentations; meeting notes; invoices; manuals; reports; goals and objectives; policies; job descriptions, position evaluations, and salary factors; and press materials.
In regards to the Office of the Director, this series contains a small amount of correspondence written or received by William Kirwin and Sister Ian Stewart as well as correspondence, research, and reports from John McGinty’s time as Director of LNDL. Notable topics of McGinty’s correspondence and research include the Knott family relationship to LNDL, combined libraries, digital libraries, and the future of academic libraries. McGinty’s work with the Affinity Group of Academic Libraries, and the Middle States Self Study of LNDL (circa 1998) are part of this series.

The Projects series contains documentation about projects which involve the library staff as whole as well as miscellaneous materials which do not correspond well with any other series in this collection. A few topics in this series include artwork for the library, Christmas cards, Jesuit Library passport, graphic design for Library Notre Dame Library logo, and the Philippine Library Materials Project. This series also includes ephemera, such as book dedication stickers, library cards, and several versions of Loyola Notre Dame stationery; historical and organizational facts about LNDL; and charts illustrating LNDL staff organization.

The Events, programs, and exhibitions series contains documentation related to events and programs as well as exhibitions hosted by Loyola Notre Dame Library within the library or at a location outside of the library.
This series includes correspondence, planning documents, programs, flyers, invitations, other promotional material, and press materials. The events and programs were organized and held at LNDL; organized by one of the colleges (Loyola University Maryland or Notre Dame of Maryland University), departments, or outside organizations and held at LNDL; or organized by LNDL and held at another location, such as The St. John’s Bible: An Evening of Scripture, Reflection, and Song at The Baltimore Basilica. Some of the other events include LNDL anniversary celebrations, book discussions, community open houses, contemporary Catholic Writers series and lecture, talks led by artists and authors, programs to introduce new library services, LNDL staff retirement events, and Mount Saint Agnes College alumnae events.
Exhibitions includes research articles and notes, exhibition planning documents, correspondence, display cards for the exhibition, brochures, exhibition catalog, and press releases. Exhibitions include Loyola Notre Dame Library [exclusive] exhibitions; collaborative exhibitions with other organizations such as ‘I Remember Mama’ specific exhibition collaborating with Art on Purpose’s ‘Everyone An Artist?’; exhibitions about local artists and/or alumni; the Archival Centennial Display at College of Notre Dame (1995); smaller exhibitions with other departments or one of the colleges, such as Loyola University Maryland student visual artists exhibitions and ‘Mistresses at the Fair: The Participation of Notre Dame of Maryland Students in the World’s Fair of 1893’ (2016).
