The Buildings, facilities, and maintenance series contains oversized architectural drawings and maintenance manuals from the Loyola Notre Dame Library’s original construction as well as the renovation and addition (circa 2008); facilities audits; and documentation on library signage, library landscape including the Stony Run Stream Restoration, library furnishings and fixtures such as St. John’s Bible Cases, and library renovations and additions.

The Architectural drawings file include oversized preliminary designs, site plans, layouts, floor plans, signage plans, and architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, and utilities plan drawings used during the original construction of Loyola Notre Dame Library, circa 1970. The drawings also include the plans for landscaping and ground work in 1983 as well as preliminary and schematic design development drawings, bid set drawings, plot plan, elevation and floor plan drawings, interior and exterior perspectives and elevations, archives department drawings, site photos, metal panel drawings, fire alarm systems, and furniture plans for the renovation and addition of LNDL, circa 2005. This subseries also includes oversized drawings and documents related to the East Stony Run Stream Restoration Project (2003; 2006).

The architectural drawings, the banner and display plans, and maple wood sample for the St. John’s Bible Cases also can be found in the flat file drawers in the Loyola room of the Archives.

The Library Renovation and Addition documentation (1997 – 2010) includes correspondence, meeting notes, reports, fundraising correspondence and reports, budget, invoices, project directory and firm profiles, project timelines and construction schedules, design plans (paper and digital files), building sketches, bids and contracts, insurance certificates, and planning documents and notes. The fundraising correspondence and reports pertain to fundraising specific to digital media studio; donations, gifts, and grants; capital campaign (2004); campaign prospects; College of Notre Dame’s Support for fundraising initiatives; proposals for grants; and non-profit and corporate fundraising. Furniture, shelving, signage, technology, and staff workstations were some of the library’s areas of renovation.

All collections are closed except to office of origin or original owner until processed. Loyola Notre Dame Library administrative records are closed for 25 years from the date of creation.
