John J. Griffin papers

This collection consists mainly of Rev. Griffin’s Camp Namaschaug documents, including business correspondence, bills, receipts, financial information, booklets and advertisements, and legal documents. The collection also contains some artifacts from the camp such as photo booklets and Rev. Griffin’s camera and set of keys. Also included in the collection are academic documents, newspaper clippings about John Griffin, and personal records such as his will and letters from his sister Mary.

The Academics series, 1890-1910, contains John J. Griffin's materials from Johns Hopkins University, his dissertation, and clippings and photocopies of newspaper articles about his university speeches.

The Financials series, 1899-1936, contains records of Camp Namaschaug's financial information, contracts, bills, receipts, business files, and mortgage. It also contains John J. Griffin's personal financial documents, including his will and codicil, list of personal holdings, and correspondence with his sister Mary about finances.

The Camp correspondence series, 1921 and undated, contains correspondence to and from Camp Namaschaug. This includes applications of admittance, letters from parents, business correspondence, motion picture rental receipts, and correspeondence with Dr. Schirp.

The Camp artifacts series, 1907-1921, undated, contains artifacts from Camp Namaschaug, including photographs, photo albums, a set of keys, John J. Griffin's camera, and booklets from Camp Namaschaug and Wawonaissa.
