Scope and Contents
The Father John A. Risacher, S.J. diary, 1936-1943, contains notepad paper and thin typewriter paper (typed words and handwritten). On the pages contain correspondences, diary entries (mostly from 1941), unofficial deed, a list of people who attended a Christmas event in 1940, lists of benefactors, “Card Party” notes that have a list of attendees and gifts donated, a list of names and addresses, a list of committee members for the “card party”, an itinerary for the “card party”, a list of sophomores from Loyola College in 1925-1926, a list of 1929-1943 graduates with their addresses, a list of the 1940 board of health members, a page titled Carmel that has a list of prices for items, a list of people who sung a telegram to the Bishop, an alphabetized list of books (fiction works) about African Americans, extracts from a letter from Charles L. B. Lowndes, notes on a gift from John T. Waldhauser Jr., a list of new associates, notes on chess tournaments, lists of Sunday Mass attendance, church renovation notes, a list of S.J. members, and notes on various lectures he attended in 1936-1937.
