Biographical / Historical
Loyola Students for Social Action (LSSA) was a student-run, student-organized program designed to help others help themselves. The basis of LSSA was a Christian commitment to the world: a commitment to social justice, service and love.
LSSA was organized in 1964 by three Loyola students. By February 1966, membership grew to 125 members attending approximately a dozen high schools and colleges.
Members of LSSA volunteered through projects or programs, including the tutorial program, paramedics programs, boy scout program, and recreation program. The programs were run by the members of each program.
