Abstract
The Cardinal Shehan fifty-year anniversary supplement to The Catholic Review, 1972, consists of a series of articles and advertisements celebrating Cardinal Shehan's 50th anniversary as a priest in the Catholic Church. Lawrence Joseph Shehan was made a cardinal in 1965 and served in Baltimore until his retirement in 1974. Cardinal Shehan celebrated his golden jubilee on December 23, 1972.

James Gibbons was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 23, 1834 to Irish-born parents. In 1886, he was appointed Cardinal-Priest of Santa Maria in Trastevere, becoming the second American to earn the rank in the Catholic Church.
