Historical newspapers collection
Scope and Contents
The Historical newspapers collection, 1805-2001, contains select newspapers and magazines documenting historical events and news of the day. The following historical events are featured in the collection: President John F. Kennedy's assassination, President Abraham Lincoln's assassination, Pope John Paul II's rise to power and assassination attempt, the passing of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the end of World War II, the September 11th terrorist attacks, and the 1926 General Strike in London, England. The Baltimore Sun, The Sunday Sun, and The New York Times make up most of the collection. The collection includes the following newspapers: Baltimore Clipper, The New York Herald, Towson Times, The Catholic Review, The Baltimore News-Post, Public Ledger, Boston Weekly Magazine, and The Sun. The following British newspaper are included in the collection: The British Gazette, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, The Times, The Observer, Daily Graphic, The British Worker Official Strike News Bulletin, and The Sphere.
