Scope and Contents

This series relates to assembling this collection. It is largely correspondence with scholars, especially Dr. John Pick and Fr. Anthony Bischoff, S.J. Bischoff’s extensive collection on Hopkins is located at Gonzaga University.

Also included are notes on courses Sr. M. Roberta Melchner taught and clippings about the Gerard Manley Hopkins Collection. Toward the end of her life, Sr. M. Roberta and Fr. Bischoff were working on a bibliography of works by and about Hopkins. This series includes this research.

Related Materials

There are 6 reel-to-reel recordings of lectures on Hopkins or readings of his poetry. These have been removed to the Notre Dame of Maryland University audiovisual collection. One recording is by A. Richards (1958), two are by Fr. Martin D’Arcy (1958) and three are by Fr. Bischoff (1963, 1968, 1972).
