Correspondence between André Girard and Carolyn O'Brien, 1963 February 9-1963 March 10
Scope and Contents
The Jane Schwarz collection of André Girard materials, 1945-2016 and undated, contains materials that illustrate the life and work of artist André Girard. The collection includes articles, original artwork, prints, correspondence, exhibit brochures and catalogs, and publicity materials. Most of the correspondence is between Girard and Jane Schwarz, who graduated from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 1949, or between Girard and Carolyn O'Brien, who graduated in 1945 and then served as a lecturer in Art. Girard maintained relationships with both women for years after their graduation. The articles, exhibit brochures, and exhibit catalogs often contain informative biographical information on Girard and his multifaceted career.
