Student looking at antiques in Meletia Hall, 1965-1966

 File — Box: 7, Folder: 9

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

The Architecture series presents a look at how Notre Dame of Maryland's campus and grounds have expanded and changed over the years. Materials are arranged alphabetically by building name and then chronologically. Buildings whose names have changed over time are indicated with a '/.' Also included in the series are images of general campus scenes. Father Griffin, the Chemistry department's first chair, took a series of photographs between 1895 and 1922. His images are early scenes of campus and students. Any that are colored he tinted himself. Various enlargements have been made of his images over time, and many of those are included throughout the collection and will be identified as such at a later date. Notably, Robert Fanto, a student at Notre Dame’s Renaissance Institute, reproduced a series of Fr. Griffin’s images for a class in 2005.
