Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Notre Dame of Maryland University audiovisual collection, 1946-2016, consists of audio recordings, videos, films, and interviews documenting the university's history as a women's college and an adult learning center. The audiovisual materials document signature events such as commencements, convocations, annual Charles J. Busta lectures, Sing Song, Concert Choir shows, poetry readings, and Notre Dame Day. Weekend College and Continuing Education television and radio advertisements are included along with undergraduate recruitment and Loyola Notre Dame Library campaign videos. Textbook chapter readings and notes can be heard on many of the audiocassettes. The audiovisual materials also document Notre Dame's search for a new president and tributes to beloved faculty members such as Sister Maura Eichner and Sister Kathleen Feeley. The collection features the following audiovisual formats: VHS, DVD, audiocassette, 16mm film, betacam, U-matic, reel-to-reel, Super 8 film, video tape V-32, and Karex Silver Chrome video tape.
