Biographical / Historical
Sigma Theta Tau is an international nursing honor society. Its mission is “advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.” It was founded in 1922 by six nurses at the Indiana University Training School for Nurses (now the School of Nursing) (STT website, accessed March 27, 2019).
According to the STT website, the Mu Eta chapter of STT at Notre Dame was formed on April 29, 1990, and it names a current president and contact. However, Notre Dame’s website does not include STT among its current honor societies, nor do the School of Nursing pages make any mention of it.
