Biographical / Historical
Frances B. Creaghan was born in Riderwood, MD in 1915 She was the daughter of William and Mary Creaghan. Her home was located at 1213 W. Joppa Road. The circa 1803 house is still standing and has the current address of 7106 Charles Spring Way. She boarded at Notre Dame as it was too difficult to go back and forth to Riderwood. She graduated in 1937 and was the president of her class. Notre Dame and her classmates were important to her. She remained in contact with them until she passed away.
Frances was the first member of her family to graduate from college. The cap and gown were preserved by her mother and then by her. They are donated to Notre Dame by her daughters Mary Warfield of Baltimore, MD and Frances W. Parrack of Silver Spring, MD.
